Partnership for Florida’s Tourism Celebrates Tourism Day at the Capitol
(Tallahassee, FL) – On Tuesday, March 9, the Partnership for Florida’s Tourism celebrated Florida Tourism Lobby Day in Tallahassee. The event brought more than 200 hospitality, travel and tourism industry leaders from across the state to speak with their legislators about funding for tourism marketing.
The day began with an advocacy training focusing on key messaging for funding. See our Legislative Toolkit section for those materials.
The briefing provided participants an opportunity to hear from great speakers such as Speaker-Designate Dean Cannon, Representative Michelle Rehwinkel Vasilinda and Lt. Governor Jeff Kottkamp. The day concluded with an evening reception at the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association headquarters where attendees and more than 20 legislators mingled and Tourism Day participants sampled some of Tallahassee’s finest cuisine.
Joining forces as part of Tourism Day were the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association, the Florida Attractions Association, the Florida Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds and VISIT FLORIDA.
Thank you for a great Tourism Day.
See you in 2011!
Tourism is one of Florida’s top industries.
That’s why the Partnership for Florida’s Tourism is proactively working with the legislature to make tourism marketing a legislative priority. We work closely with these entities to understand the ongoing and emerging marketing needs at the local and state level, and then we make sure those needs are heard and understood by policymakers at the state and national levels.
